Johnny Lujack, Notre Dame Heisman winner, former Bears QB, dies at 98 SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Football fans are mourning the loss of a former Heisman Trophy winner and Bears' quarterback on Tuesday.Johnny Lujack, who was one of the greatest football players in Notre Dame history and had a brief but memorable run with the Bears, has died at the age of 98 at his home in Naples, Florida, the university confirmed.A native of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, the quarterback would find his athletic success in the Midwest, first during his outstanding career in South Bend. LOUIS - A veteran from Berkeley, Missouri, appeared in federal court on Tuesday and admitted stealing $106,245 in disability benefits from the Veterans Administration through false medical claims.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Charles Adams, 50, claimed to have physical limitations and applied for various benefits, but was later seen working out at a gym.According to court documents, Adams applied for an increase in disability benefits in, citing degenerative disc disease and degenerative arthritis from his time in the service.
